Pymatuning Valley boys and girls track teams got several outstanding performances Thursday, but they were not enough to produce team championships at the Northeastern Athletic Conference Track Meet.
Both sets of Lakers finished second. The PV boys scored 99 points to finish behind Lordstown with 153%BD points. The PV girls racked up 95 points to finish second to Maplewood with 167.
PV's Brandon Barret did share honors as the Most Valuable Runner. He won the 100-meter dash in 11.4 and the 200-meter dash in 23.2 and anchored the 400-meter relay of Tom Erwin, Josh Brafford and Joe Olson to a meet record in 47.0.
The PV girls got wins from LaJoya Smith in the 400-meter dash in 1:04.7 and their 800-meter relay of Venus Cataldo, Samantha Beach, U-Hara Lawson and Smith in 1:56.1.
