Police in suburban Denver say a Black teen fatally shot by an officer was armed with a pellet gun and not a semiautomatic handgun as they originally had said. Fourteen-year-old Jor’Dell Richardson was shot June 2 after a struggle on the ground with police who chased him from a store in Aurora. He and a group of other teens were suspected of stealing vaping cartridges. Police Chief Art Acevedo disclosed the new information during a news conference to release body camera video of the shooting. A lawyer for the family accuses police of purposefully withholding the information.
