Growing conditions are tough for many Ohio farmers this year, but President Trump has delivered a ray of hope by announcing a plan to use more ethanol.
This announcement will help Ohio ethanol plants, farmers and rural families across the state and nation.
However, this won’t happen if President Trump can’t get the EPA to listen to him. For several years, the federal EPA has granted secret exemptions to big oil companies allowing them to not blend ethanol.
This year, the EPA quadrupled this exemption number without justification and Ohio has felt the impact.
In fact, just a few weeks ago Three Rivers Energy in Coshocton was forced to close its doors and send workers home, citing in part the EPA’s overuse of these exemptions.
Farmers across the nation know that President Trump needs to act.
He needs to not only say he supports farmers, but also take action at the EPA.
