As with many internet users, we all have our “Cheers” and “Jeers” for internet providers. I want to express a very late “CHEER!” to the Spectrum team of workers and technicians for their quick and efficient work for us at Our Lady of Peace Parish.

Back in March as all of us were beginning to scramble to a new reality with the coronavirus and church communities beginning to realize our churches would not be open for Easter celebrations, I knew we at the parish needed to act swiftly to compensate for closed churches, especially on Easter.

I reached out to Spectrum to ask to have an internet connection for Mt. Carmel Church in order for us to live stream Masses. One of their men came in to look over the request and let me know that it would be about 4 to 6 weeks before they’d be able to get to the project. With a heavy heart I explained to him I had hoped to live stream Easter Sunday Mass for our parishioners. With that awareness he then made a few phone calls to arrange for a temporary connection for the church. A crew came in not only to allow a live stream Easter Sunday Mass, but also the entire Triduum of Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper and the Good Friday Service.

Thank you, Spectrum for allowing our parishioners to celebrate Easter and daily Mass virtually.
