The woman told a deputy that when she tasted no sugar in her coffee and asked for a new one and the clerk gave her an attitude. While inside, the woman was given a new coffee after speaking with a manager, and she saw the clerk laughing at her so she admitted to getting mad and throwing the donut, the report states.

The woman reportedly told the deputy she would like to return to the store to apologize. The incident was sent to the Ashtabula city solicitor for review.
