ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP — A woman is accused of getting angry at Dunkin Donuts and throwing more than a fit.
A woman could face charges after being accused of getting upset with a clerk and responding by throwing a donut which struck the clerk in the face, according to a police report.
The woman, who isn’t being named because she has not yet been charged with a crime, reportedly ordered two donuts and a coffee at the drive-thru.
After receiving the order, the woman said the coffee was wrong, the report states. An employee reportedly told the woman to pull up and her order would be fixed. That’s when things took a turn for the worst.
The woman is accused of entering the store and asking to see a manager, and then yelling profanities and throwing one of the donuts at an employee which struck the employee’s head.
Deputies were able to see the incident on surveillance footage and the woman driving off. Using a license plate number, deputies tracked the woman down to a home in Ashtabula.
The woman told a deputy that when she tasted no sugar in her coffee and asked for a new one and the clerk gave her an attitude. While inside, the woman was given a new coffee after speaking with a manager, and she saw the clerk laughing at her so she admitted to getting mad and throwing the donut, the report states.
The woman reportedly told the deputy she would like to return to the store to apologize. The incident was sent to the Ashtabula city solicitor for review.
