ASHTABULA — The Ashtabula County District Library, together with the League of Women Voters of Ashtabula County, will host a Virtual Candidates’ Night.
The event will span two nights, Sept. 29 and 30, beginning at 6:30 p.m. each night, and feature conversations with candidates for the Nov. 3 election.
The local candidates participating on Sept. 29 are: Common Pleas Court, County Commissioner (commencing 1-2-21), County Commissioner (commencing 1-3-21), County Prosecutor, County Clerk of Courts, County Sheriff and County Treasurer.
State candidates participating on Sept. 30 are: Ohio State Representative (64th District), Ohio Court of Appeals (11th District, FTC 2-9-21), Ohio State Senator (32nd District), Ohio Court of Appeals (11th District, FTC 2-10-21), Ohio State Representative (99th District) and U.S. Representative to Congress (14th District).
Candidates for Supreme Court races were invited to participate but the League of Women Voters of Ashtabula County has been notified in advance that both candidates in the races were not able to participate due to other commitments.
Questions for candidates in each race may be submitted to AskUs@acdl.info. The deadline for questions is Friday. The events will be live-streamed on the sponsors’ Facebook and Youtube pages and Zoom will be available to the first 100 participants. The links for these livestreams will be available at www.acdl.info and recordings of the events will also be made available.
