Traffic heading south from Conneaut on Route 7 will need to take a detour for the next week and a half.
Route 7 is closed from Center Road to Hatches Corners Road in Monroe Township, said Ray Marsch, a spokesperson for the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The closure is expected to last until Sept. 30, while a culvert is replaced, according to ODOT. The closure started on Monday.
ODOT’s recommended detour is Interstate 90 to Route 84.
The project is expected to finish on Sept. 30, and cost $37,000, Marsch said. He said ODOT has replaced a number of culverts this year.
The Monroe Township project is one of several ODOT projects that are currently ongoing in the county.
Route 20 in Saybrook Township is closed just east of Route 45, and is expected to reopen at the end of this month, according to ODOT’s website. There are also various lane restrictions in place on routes 6, 84, and 193.
Resurfacing of routes 531 and 7 in Conneaut are ongoing, with an estimated completion date of mid-October.
