ASHTABULA — A female pizza delivery driver was held up at gunpoint and robbed Sunday night in the Ashtabula Harbor.
Police say the 54-year-old driver was shaken but unharmed. She was delivering a pizza at about 8 p.m. in the 1600 block of West 11th Street when a black male with a handgun approached her, Police Chief Robert Stell said.
The suspect held the gun to the driver’s ribs and demanded money. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, Stell said.
Stell said the case is under investigation.
The last time a pizza delivery person was robbed at gunpoint in Ashtabula was in February, when a Domino’s pizza delivery driver was accosted by a lone man, who claimed to have a handgun, in the store’s parking lot at 5817 Main Ave.
Anyone with any information about Sunday’s robbery should call the Ashtabula Police Department at 440-992-7172.
