ASHTABULA — Local law enforcement seized drugs and cash Tuesday morning during a raid sparked by numerous citizen complaints and hours of surveillance by the Crime Enforcement Agency of Ashtabula County Task Force.
The CEAAC served the search warrant at about 10 a.m. Tuesday at 1421 Norwood Drive, with the assistance of the Ashtabula Police Department, Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office, the Youngstown office of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Painesville Federal Bureau of Investigation. Municipal Judge Laura DiGiacomo issued the warrant.
Upon entry into the residence, four occupants were secured at the scene while police conducted the search.
Police discovered small amounts of suspected heroin, meth and prescription drugs, along with $750 in cash.
All of the suspected drugs will be sent to the Ohio Bureau of Investigation in Richfield for testing.
“The CEAAC would like to thank those residents who forwarded information resulting in this warrant,” said Greg Leonhard, commander of the CEAAC.
