CONNEAUT — Conneaut Creek Float and Fly opened over Memorial Day weekend, and the crowds exceeded expectations, said owner Courtney Fobes.
The business, located at Welton Road and Route 7, currently offers kayak rentals along Conneaut Creek, allowing people to enter the creek at one of three locations.
Later this year, at the start of steelhead fly-fishing season, Fobes said she plans to add fly fishing supplies to the business
A grand opening is planned for June.
The business was busy on Memorial Day weekend, and was also busy on Tuesday, Fobes said. Wet weather on Wednesday and Thursday kept people away, she said.
“We had a lot of support from the community,” Fobes said.
Prices for kayak rentals range from $15 to $40, according to Conneaut Creek Float and Fly’s Facebook page.
