CONNEAUT — DeCato and Associates hosted a ribbon cutting at their new location at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, after it was delayed because of road work near the office.
“We’ve been in Conneaut for quite a while now, and the community’s been very very helpful to us and supportive of us,” Dr. John DeCato said to the attendees of the event.
“We have been growing, and we will continue to grow. As the community needs us, we will just continue to open up more hours and more days.”
DeCato has been practicing in Ashtabula for 28 years, he said.
“We’ve been in both hospital systems. We go to Geneva and Conneaut. We go to Tri-Point and Ashtabula, obviously. But again, we like coming out here and the community is good to us,” DeCato said.
The practice will be collecting food for Feed Our Vets Ashtabula until the third weekend of December, Dr. Lori Herpen said. A box for donations was available at the event.
A ribbon cutting was scheduled for earlier in the year, but the work on Parrish Road and Route 20 made it difficult to reach the office.
“It’s been going great,” DeCato said about the office.
When the Conneaut office opened, DeCato and his nurses reached out to patients with a Conneaut zip code, informing them about the new office opening, he said. That gave business an immediate bump, he said.
There have been some renovations done to the office since DeCato moved in, and he has been attempting to use local vendors for the work that has been done, he said.
