ASHTABULA — Police are searching for a man who participated in a shoot-out outside a West Avenue bar, wounding an Ashtabula man.

The victim, Isaac Grover of Ashtabula, who police say is in his 20s, told police a black male shot at him outside the Nave Lounge, 2321 West Ave., and he shot back, Ashtabula Police Chief Robert Stell said.

The other man involved in the shooting fled the scene before police arrived around 10:30 p.m., reports show.

Grover remained at the bar, as a bullet had struck him in the foot. He was transported to Ashtabula County Medical Center, where he was treated and released early Sunday morning, Stell said.

“It was a minor injury,” Stell said. “The bullet struck him between his toes.”

Stell said the men each used different types of guns, but would not elaborate at this point in the investigation.

Anyone with any information about the altercation should call the Ashtabula Police Department at 440-992-7172. Anonymous tips are accepted.
