JEFFERSON — A man accused of firing a gun twice at an Andover party was indicted by an Ashtabula County grand jury.

Jesse Reed, 27, of Orwell, was indicted on charges of aggravated burglary, discharging a firearm on or near a prohibited premises with specifications and using weapons while intoxicated, according to court records.

Reed is accused of firing a rifle twice, once outside and once inside, at a home in the 100 block of Hickory Street just after midnight in May where a group of teens and young adults were having a party.

No one was injured from the shooting, though one teenager, whose brother took him to Ashtabula County Medical Center, got a severe cut on his leg and hand when he jumped through a window to get away.

The incident started after a neighbor woman acquainted with Reed sought shelter in the home from him. Police and partygoers reported that Reed had tried to sexually assault the woman, although police said the woman did not want to press charges and Reed was not charged with sexual assault.

Reed is accused of going to the home to try to get the woman to come back with him. A group of teens and young adults there told him she didn’t want to go with him, police said. Reed reportedly left, returned with a rifle, fired a couple shots and kicked the door in.
