TRUMBULL TOWNSHIP — A man is facing charges after being accused of fighting a sheriff’s deputy Tuesday while intoxicated.
Kurt Czika, 31, of Trumbull Township, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and being intoxicated on a highway, according to a police report.
A deputy was called to the 1500 block of Route 534 around 4:17 a.m. by Czika’s parents because he began to fight with them after they expressed concern about his attempts to leave the home while under the influence, the report states.
When the deputy arrived he found Czika with no shirt or shoes and in the roadway.
He expressed anger at being told what do do by his parents because he is a grown man, the report states.
Czika is accused of becoming agitated and hostile toward the deputy, and as the deputy tried to arrest him he told the deputy good luck and keep trying.
The deputy ultimately had to take Czika to the ground and struggle and fight to make the arrest.
On the way to jail Czika reportedly alternated between being apologetic and angry and he banged his head against the plexiglass in the police car.
