Late summer can be one of the nicest times of year for area bikers, boaters, swimmers and many other recreational pursuits enjoyed along the Lake Erie waterfront.

Warm temperatures provide a last blast of summer fun for area resident sand tourists seeking to squeeze the last drop of fun out of the summer before temperatures begin to chill and force people inside for the winter.

Boat ramps are busy, especially on weekends, as fishermen seek to catch walleye and perch and beaches allow opportunities for people to cool off at the beach during the warm days that exist in September.
