ASHTABULA — INEOS Pigments has donated $10,000 in support of the ACMC Foundation, through the International INEOS Community Fund.

The Ashtabula County Medical Center is a non-profit community hospital and the county’s largest employer. Each year, more than 100,000 patients and their families turn to ACMC for high-quality medical care, close to home.

“The ACMC Foundation has been so important to everyone in the community during this pandemic, as they support our medical center, which is becoming increasingly important,” said Misty Hejduk, Human Resources Business Partner Manager at INEOS Pigments. “I am extremely pleased that we are able to help them.”

The money from INEOS Pigments will go directly to ACMC’s COVID Relief and Support fund, enabling hospital workers to help those who are really suffering during this pandemic.

“As long as the COVID-19 pandemic impacts Ashtabula community, the ACMC Foundation plans to continue to address these unique needs as they arise, and we will respond with the resources available,” said Tami Netkowicz, executive director of ACMC Foundation. “The Foundation is vital to our community, particularly at a time when medical care is so important.”

The money will go toward meals in the hospital or to the families of caregivers, emotional and financial support, in an effort to address unexpected financial hardship.

To support patients, the COVID Relief Fund is also helping to improve communications by strengthening internet infrastructure to enable more video calls and also support hospital operations.

The $1.2 million INEOS Community Fund was established by INEOS Chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe in March 2020 in tandem with the company’s COVID-19 “Hands On” campaign, which set up new production lines to provide millions of bottles of free hand sanitizer per month to hospitals and frontline healthcare. The fund enables INEOS sites across the world to support the charitable organizations doing vital work in their local communities at this time.

INEOS Pigments, 2426 Middle Road in Ashtabula, is one of the largest producers of titanium dioxide in North America, and the leading producer of titanium chemicals.
