ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP — A bargain hunt, mixed with the ability to help local charities, makes the 20th Annual Garage Sale Bonanza a can’t miss weekend event for hundreds of shoppers.
The sale will be held 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the former Ashtabula Armory on State Road. Admission is free.
For folks who like to get an early start, a Preview Sale will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
For a $10 admission fee, bargain hunters can search the treasures before the general public.
“We are really excited because it’s our 20th annual Garage Sale Bonanza,” said April Mariotti, event organizer. “We have everything from furniture to household goods, toys, tools, appliances, linens, sporting goods, pet products and arts and crafts.”
For the past three months, volunteers have worked collecting donations, as well as sorting, cleaning, merchandising, painting and repairing items to receive the highest prices possible, she said.
They do not stock stuffed animals, computers, clothing, magazines, encyclopedias, tube-style televisions and mattresses.
This year, the e vent is raising money for several 501(c)3 organizations, including Damsels in Distress, Special Olympics, Rustler Ranch, Leaves for Life, Ashtabula Senior Center, Girl Scout Troop 80525, Spiderweb, Jefferson Village Depot, Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department, Lighthouse Harvest, Christian Faith Academy, H2O and Hannah’s House.
All donations are tax deductible, receipts are available.
