MENTOR-ON-THE-LAKE — A former Plymouth Township man was identified as the victim of a late June murder-suicide, said the Mentor-on-the-Lake Police Chief John Gielink.
“On June 27 at 5:54 p.m. we were called to a welfare check at 7806 Linden Street,” Gielink said.
He said the officers smelled decomposing bodies and forced entry into the building and found two people dead.
Dean Bowers, 64, formerly of Plymouth Township, and Sonya Larko, 51, both who listed 7806 Linden Street as their main address, were found dead of gunshot wounds, Gielink said. He said autopsy results indicated Bowers died of two gunshot wounds and Larko of one gunshot wound.
He said the investigation indicated Larko was the shooter and no other foul play was connected to the shootings.
