CONNEAUT — Congressman Dave Joyce was in town on Tuesday, visiting with Conneaut leaders.

Joyce, who represents Ashtabula county, met with Conneaut City Manager Jim Hockaday, Council President Deborah Newcomb, Port Authority Chair Wally Dunne, Conneaut Foundation President Michael Joslin, and Conneaut Chamber of Commerce President Kathy Zappitello.

Joyce highlighted the city's updated comprehensive plan, which was done thanks to a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

“As a champion of programs that protect and preserve the Great Lakes for current and future generations, like the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, I look forward to working alongside Conneaut city officials to ensure the city’s plan continues to drive economic success and preserve this natural treasure in northeast Ohio," Joyce said.

Joyce also visited Ashta Chemicals in Ashtabula.

“I applaud ASHTA’s increasing success as an industry leader in chemical manufacturing and look forward to continuing my work to ensure ASHTA and all Ohio manufacturers have the resources they need to continue driving our nation’s economy,” Joyce said.

State Sen, Sean O'Brien jointed Joyce on the tour.
