ASHTABULA - - A two-car accident at the corner of West Avenue and West Prospect Road on Tuesday sent three people to the hospital, police said.
Police were called to the scene shortly before 3 p.m., after a vehicle traveling east on West Prospect failed to stop for a red light, Patrolman Rodney Blaney said. As the vehicle traveled through the intersection, it struck a car traveling south on West Avenue, police said.
A small crowd gathered outside Tops Market as fire trucks and ambulances arrived on the scene.
An ambulance transported three people to the hospital for injuries, but their names were not available.
Blaney said a passenger in one of the cars appeared to have the most serious injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt, and her face hit the windshield when the cars collided, he said.
