ASHTABULA -- The Circle K convenient store on Lake Avenue was robbed at gunpoint Thursday morning by two men.

The police received a call at 2:59 a.m., that the convenient store had just been robbed.

The suspects, who are believed to be Caucasian, had their faces covered, said Ashtabula Police Capt. Gerald Cornelius. One suspect produced a firearm, he said. However, Cornelius wouldn't say what type of firearm was used.

The suspects reportedly took an undisclosed amount of money and left the scene on foot, Cornelius said. No further information was available.

The police are still investigating the incident.
