SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP — Jessica Greanya opens her first salon and spa with a staff of master stylists, a manicurist and an esthetician at Beyond Salon and Spa.
Modern with a rustic twist, the salon, 2130 West Prospect Road, is filled with all new equipment and decor, giving it a very clean look.
In addition to hair salon stylists R.J. Vandercook and Greanya, the spa offers manicures and pedicures with Shari Krause, as well as waxing and several skin care treatments.
Licensed esthetician Stacey Snyder wants area residents to be better friends with their skin. She offers facials, Aveda Plant peels, exfoliation treatments and dermaplane, which rejuvenates the skin by removing the outer most layer of dead skin and hair.
Customers also can get body treatments, massages, peels and eye and lip treatments.
Prices range from $10 to $85 for services other than haircuts, trims, highlights and color.
“We are the only salon in the county to offer all those treatments,” Greanya said. “And we are the only Aveda salon in the county.”
Krause said the salon and spa is a holistic experience, allowing customers to relax and pamper themselves.
After 17 years in the salon business, Greanya, said it feels good to finally own her own salon. Opening a business, let alone one that caters to beauty and relaxation during a pandemic, is challenging.
“It’s a big accomplishment,” she said.
When Gov. Mike DeWine gave the green light on personal care businesses under the recommendations by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Greanya adhered to the restrictions and safety protocols to be able to open.
