ASHTABULA — Police were called to Ashtabula County Medical Center early Thursday to interview an assault victim seeking treatment for facial injuries.
The victim, a 30-year-old Ashtabula man, said he was walking at about 6 a.m. in the 1600 block of West Prospect Road when a known suspect approached him and demanded his wallet. When the victim refused, the suspect picked up a piece of asphalt and hit him in the face, according to the police report.
The suspect then forcibly took the wallet and ran off, police said.
The victim said there was little money in the wallet, police said.
The victim was treated and released from ACMC, police said.
