JEFFERSON — Some absentee ballots mailed to voters in Ashtabula County contained instructions that might have erroneously said 49 cents is the required postage to mail the ballot back.
Postage was increased to 50 cents in January 2018.
Duane Feher, Ashtabula County Board of
Elections Director, said the office has received several calls asking about the error. Feher said the error has been corrected, future mailings will list the correct postage amount and 50 cents is the required postage.
For anyone doesn’t have a Forever stamp, or who finds themselves with stamps that only add up to 49 cents, Feher suggested heading to the post office and either buying a penny stamp or a 50-cent forever stamp.
