CONNEAUT — Registration is under way for the “Bear” Merry Christmas Party to be 4:30-6:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Conneaut Public Library, 304 Buffalo St.

The party will feature a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus; photo opportunities with Nora, a real reindeer; family crafts, face-painting; and a Scholastic book fair. Also, a photo booth will offer on-the-spot printing of family pictures and Santa photos. John Falcone’s Green Acres Kettle Corn will provide holiday flavors of the popular snack.

Local author Burton Cole will be on hand to sign copies of his children’s books.

• STUDENT ART is on display this month at Gallery 304 inside the Conneaut Public Library, 304 Buffalo St. The work was created by students from pre-school to grade five enrolled in ABC Art, taught by Jody Brecht.

An open house for the students will be held 5-6 p.m. Tuesday at the library.

• SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 1-8. Books for children and their parents will be available.

• TEDDY BEAR SLEEPOVER will be 4:30-5:15 p.m. Dec. 10. Kids from pre-school to grade two are invited to put on their pajamas and bring a favorite plush animal for a special activity involving teddy bears, including crafts, stories and a snack. Animals will spend the night and can be claimed the next day — along with a special surprise.

• AFTER-SCHOOL CRAFTS — Children from kindergarten to grade five can sign up for “Crafty Creations” 4:30-5:30 p.m. Dec. 15. Familiar holiday characters will be assembled from tea lights, and kids will hear stories and music and be served cookies and hot chocolate.
