CONNEAUT - - A blood drive in memory of an avid blood donor will be between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday at the Conneaut First United Methodist Church, 283 Buffalo St.

The drive is held in honor of Katie Whitman, 21, a city resident who died in a 2002 car crash. Whitman, a Conneaut High School graduate, was a regular blood donor, according to family and friends.

People can donate blood every 56 days if at least 17 years old, weight no less than 117 pounds and are in good health. Donors must bring an American Red Cross donor card, driver's license or two forms of identification.
