JEFFERSON - - Separate plea arraignments were recently held by Common Pleas Judge Gary Yost for two indicted defendants.
Matthew Dietrich, 47, of 2451 Footville-Richmond Road, Jefferson on Aug. 25 pleaded not guilty to charges of failure to comply with firearm specification, a third-degree felony; and assault of a police officer, a fourth-degree felony. Yost appointed public defender Richard Danolfo as Dietrich's defense counsel.
Yost continued a $20,000 cash, surety or 10 percent. He was to remain in custody in lieu of bond. His criminal case was assigned to Judge Ronald Vettel.
Dontray Brown, 26, of 400 W. 54th St., Ashtabula, Tuesday pleaded not guilty to two counts of trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony. Public defender Marie Lane was appointed by the court as defense counsel.
Brown is serving a prison sentence on separate drug charges conviction case. This current case was assigned to Judge Alfred Mackey.
