The date has been set for the dedication ceremony of the new Lakeside High School on Sanborn Road.
The event will take place Aug. 19. The dedication ceremony will be held at 10:15 a.m. with an open house of the 240,000-square-foot facility held from 1 to 5 p.m. that same day.
The school will officially open to students on the first day of school later in the month.
THERE WILL BE NO DOUBT

Signs are being planned for the new Lakeside High School and other district properties.
Those signs will designate that any school property is 100 percent tobacco free. Chris Seuffert of the districts Wellness Committee and a physical/health education teacher, said the committee has gone to area sign businesses for prices and had mock sign designs made.
She showed the mock design drawings to the board. Board members suggested it be made more clear that districts properties are tobacco free and to have a sign as one enters the property and a thank you sign as one leaves the property.
Earlier this year, the board approved a resolution making all district property 100 percent tobacco free.
