Dr. Jon A. Konti, son of Beth and George McManus of Ashtabula and Richard Konti of Dayton, graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine on June 10. He will begin his ophthalmology residency at Case Western Reserve Univer-sity/University Hospitals of Cleveland July 2007 following completion of his preliminary internal medicine internship at River-side Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

A 1999 graduate of Edgewood Senior High School, Konti received his undergraduate degree in biology from Ohio State University graduating magna cum laude.

His grandparents are Mary Babiski of Ashtabula and the late Victor Babiski.

Erika Thomas, daughter of Mary and Ernest Collins and James Thomas, all of Ashtabula, has accepted membership in The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She will be honored this fall at Kent State University, Kent. NSCS is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is the nations only interdisciplinary honors organization for first and second year college students based on grade point average and class standing.

Thomas was also named to the Deans List at KSU Ashtabula for fall and spring semesters. She will study secondary education at KSU-Kent this fall.

She is the granddaughter of Louise Noce of Ashtabula.

Jonathon Ireland, son of Edward and Debra Ireland of Jefferson, received a bachelor of science degree in technology from Kent State University Ashtabula Campus in May. He is a graduate of Jefferson Area High School. Ireland is a member of Ashtabula Countys on-line consortium.

Erika Kendall, daughter of Chris Kendall of Ashtabula and Bill Kendall of Treasure Island, Fla., was recently initiated into Phi Beta Kappa an undergraduate honors organization. A senior majoring in history at Kent State University, Kendall is a 2003 graduate of Lakeside High School.
