SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP —
The game was neck-and-neck until the middle of the second quarter. Touchdowns scored by Alicia Ngiraingas and Emily Powers put the Blue team in the lead and led to their victory. Afterwards, the students and parents were welcomed to a potluck dinner in the cafeteria.
On Thursday, students were permitted to dress down, providing they brought in a $1 for “First Steps to Change,” a Catholic charity program for babies, and the students were all for it. They appeared in costumes such as the Wreck-It-Ralph characters, cats, an Iphone, and even a lobster! Grades kindergarten to six participated in a costume parade where older students passed out candy.
To end the week, the entire school gathered in the gym for a Mass for All Saints Day. Students remarked that it was a very nice way to end the week and get together as a family.
Junior Sarah Fowler said, “This year’s Homecoming week showed how much of a family we are here at St. John.”
