Dan Jackson is in his second year as principal for Pymatuning Valley High School. Jackson received his bachelor’s degree in history and integrated social studies education from Hiram College and earned his master’s degree from Youngstown State University. Jackson was previously a football coach at Pymatuning Valley for four years, which sparked his newfound interest in Laker Country. Jackson said he was inspired in his high school career at Jefferson High School being highly involved in band, football, school plays, Student Council, Model United Nations, Spanish Club, Chemistry Club, and being a class officer, peer tutor and library aide. As a result, Jackson encourages and expects students to be highly involved and active and show continuous amounts of leadership and school pride. Jackson said he is looking forward to making many improvements within the school along with recognizing good deeds, achievements and activities taking place within the school.
When asked what improvements could be made to PV, Jackson replied, “If things aren’t broke, don’t fix it, [however] we can continually improve.”
Jackson is looking forward to another great school year, and is anticipating the excellence that has always been a PV tradition.
