ASHTABULA

Homesafe Inc. will hold a "Let Your Heart Speak" poetry slam 5 p.m. Sat-urday at the Ashtabula Harbor Perk, 1025 Bridge St. The poetry slam is to raise awareness against domestic violence and sexual assault. Prizes are first place, four Cleveland Indians tickets; second place, two Lake County Captains tickets; and third place, two Waldameer Water Park passes. All winners will receive a trophy. Call Homesafe Domestic Violence Shelter to register. The first 20 people to call to be a contestant will be accepted.

Lake Shore Artists will meet 6:30 p.m. Friday at Ashtabula Arts Center. Eva Barkman will explain how she digitally en-hanced her work. The public is welcome.

Independent Living Services of Ashtabula County is having a fund-raiser. On June 14 Sub-way Restaurants in Ashtabula, Jefferson and Geneva will be donating a percentage of their sub sales to ILSAC. For more information contact Ray Barnett.

Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery Ashtabula Support Group will have a picnic 6:30 p.m. June 14 at Lake Shore Park. Hamburgers, hot dogs and bottled water will be provided. Bring a dish to pass.

CONNEAUT

The next Gluten-free Gathering for people with celiac disease will be 10 a.m. Saturday at UH Conneaut Medical Center, board room.

ORWELL

Rock Creek Public Library will kick off the summer reading program, "Mysteries!" for ages 3 to 13 at noon Monday. Call the library to register.
