April 3 COMMUNITY events


In conjunction with the Pinwheels for Preven-tion Campaign, a program of Prevent Child Abuse Ohio, Ashtabula County Children Services will be planting pinwheels 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Donahoe Center. A dedication ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. The public is invited. There will also be a display of entries submitted for the "Teens Against Abuse: Shattered Lives" essay contest.


Polish American Ladies 23rd annual Easter luncheon will be held noon April 14 at Sal's Restaurant. Guests and new members are welcome. For more information contact Sophia (M.C.) Seager.


Bereavement Support Group will meet 5 p.m. April 9 at University Hospital Geneva Medical Center, 870 W. Main St., private dining room. Group will be led by Jeanette Behm of Behm Funeral Home. The topic will be "Your Stages of Grief." For more information, contact the funeral home. All are welcome. There is no charge.


Safesitter babysitting program will be held April 21 and 28 at The Conversation Station, 18 E. Main St. The class is a hands-on program for ages 11 and older. The $25 fee covers all materials and supplies. Scholarships are also available. Call the center to register by Thursday.
