LOCAL POLICE REPORTS

ASHTABULA

• A theft from a vehicle while parked in the 1500 block of Harbor Avenue was reported at 12:09 a.m. Wednesday.

• A traffic stop at 8:16 a.m. at West Avenue and West 55th Street Wednesday resulted in the arrest of the driver for having no operator’s license.

• A person wanted by the law was arrested at Ohio Avenue and West Ninth Street at 9:03 a.m. Wednesday.

• A theft was reported in the 560 block of Woodman Avenue at 1:54 p.m. Wednesday.

• An unwanted guest was reported at 1633 Walnut Boulevard at 1:51 p.m. Wednesday.

• A woman called the police at 2:07 p.m. Wednesday from the 800 block of Lake Avenue to report indecent exposure. When police arrived on the scene, they discovered a 75-year-old man urinating between parked cars.

According to the police officer’s report, the man said, “I’m old and when I got to go, I got to go.”

After talking with police, the woman who said the man exposed himself to her did not want to press charges.

• Several people were yelling outside the Ashtabula Justice Center, 110 W. 44th St., at 3:53 p.m. Wednesday on Collins Boulevard side of the jail. Police said there are windows on that side of the building. Officers told the subjects to disperse.

• An attempted burglary was reported at 5831 Washington Boulevard at 3:58 p.m. Wednesday.

• A disturbance between a tenant of an apartment at 705 Bunker Hill Road and an unwanted female was reported at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday.

• An assault was reported at 1029 Bridge St. at 9:17 p.m. Wednesday.

• A woman was cited for driving under suspension during a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Bridge Street at 9:17 p.m. Wednesday. Her vehicle was towed away.

• A man was cited for driving under suspension during a traffic stop at West 19th Street and Ohio Avenue at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday. His vehicle was towed away.

• A woman was arrest on a warrant for failure to serve jail time at 914 W. 51st St. at 3:22 a.m. Thursday.

• A man was cited for driving with fictitious plates and driving under suspension during a traffic stop at West 19th Street and Lambros Lane at 12:24 a.m. Thursday. He was also arrested on a warrant through the Geneva Police Department for failure to serve jail time.

• Marcus Lashley Jr. of Cleveland was booked into the city jail at 9:06 a.m. Thursday after his arrival from the Cuyahoga County jail. He was charged with two counts of murder and one count of felonious assault in connection with the Jan. 27 fatal shootings on Norman Avenue in Ashtabula.

• Tire damage from a pothole was reported in the 3300 block of West Avenue at 3:03 p.m. Thursday.

• A customer attempted to pass a counterfeit bill at 1714 W. 19th St. at 2:29 p.m. Thursday.

• Domestic violence was reported at 5864 Runkle Ave. at 3:54 p.m. Thursday.

• Copper was reported stolen out of a vacant residence in the 1500 block of West 51st Street at 7:41 p.m. Thursday.

• A man was cited for driving under suspension and for having no rear license plate illumination during a traffic stop at Main Avenue and Center Street at 8:03 p.m. Thursday. He was arrested on multiple warrants through the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Department.

• A hit-skip accident was reported at the intersection of West Avenue and Route 20 at 9:09 p.m. Thursday.

• An Ashtabula K-9 officer was called to assist another law enforcement agency during a traffic stop at West Prospect Road and West Avenue at 1:28 a.m. Friday. The K-9 performed a narcotics sniff.

SHERIFF

• A theft was reported in the 1500 block of Oak Lane in Plymouth Township on Feb. 5.

• An alarm drop was reported in the 5700 block of Dibble Road in Kingsville Township on Feb. 11.

• A theft was reported in the 3300 block of North Ridge Road E. in Ashtabula Township on Feb. 11.

• A theft was reported in the 3300 block of North Ridge Road E. in Ashtabula Township on Feb. 11.

• An assault was reported at Edgewood Senior High School on Feb. 6. A female student slapped another female student. She was issued a summons and released to her grandmother.

• Suspicious activity was reported in the 3500 block of North Ridge Road E. in Ashtabula Township on Feb. 11.

• An assault was reported in the 3500 block of North Ridge Road E. in Ashtabula Township on Feb. 11.

• A domestic dispute was reported in the 1700 block of Pamona Dr. in Harpersfield Township on Feb. 12.

• A burglary was reported in the 1800 block of Footville-Richmond Road in Lenox Township on Feb. 6.

• A theft was reported in the 3400 block of North Ridge Road E. in Ashtabula Township on Feb. 13.

• A suicide was reported in the 8500 block of Route 45 in Orwell Township on Feb. 10.

    • K-9 Officer Basco helped with a traffic stop at the corner of Center Street and Main Avenue at 12:11 a.m. Thursday. He alerted to a drug odor coming from the vehicle and discovered rolling papers. The passengers admitted to using marijuana before getting into the vehicle.
