BEREA, Ky. —
Clarence A. Watters, age 92, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, in Berea, Ky.
Born in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was a son of the late Mary (née: Herschell) and George Watters. Mr. Watters graduated from Ashtabula H.S. in 1940 and was inducted into the Ashtabula Football Hall of Fame in 2010.
A Veteran, he was a Marine Corps Veteran of World War II, serving in the 3rd Battalion of the 8th Marine Regiment of the 2nd Marine Division receiving the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a Cleveland Police Detective from 1950-1975.
Over 60 year member of the John W. Barkley Masonic Lodge #621, he was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #7647 and the F.O.P Lodge #8. He was also past president of the Police and Fire Retirees of Ohio.
Beloved husband of the late Marilyn (née: Wasley); father of John (Luann) and Laura Egeland (James Neal); grandfather of Tiffany, Michael, Brandon, Kristin, Therese and Thomas; and great-grandfather of Owen, Olivia, Rosemary and Kennedy.
All Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 14th, at Church of the Ascension, 13216 Detroit Ave., Lakewood, at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Lakewood Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of N. Olmsted, 29150 Lorain Road at Stearns on Friday, June 13th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
