JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP —
Joseph P. Bilicic, age 89, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014, at his nieces home in Jefferson Township, Ohio, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Joe was born on April 3, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio, to George A. and Anna (Seketa) Bilicic.
At the age of 13, Joe moved from Cleveland to Harpersfield Township, where he started his grape vineyard and it became the enjoyment of his life.
He also enjoyed dancing, hunting, trapping and hanging out at Mary's Diner. Joe was a member of the Ashtabula American Legion Post #0103.
Survivors include his sister, Anne (Bob) Cafardi of Independence; two sisters-in-law, Magda Cerjan of Austinburg and Tish Rauckhorst of Pasadena, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death was the love of his life, his wife, Emily E. Fortier. Emily was born Jan. 9, 1928, in Mantua, Ohio. They were married on April 14, 1948, in Geneva, Ohio, celebrating almost 57 years of marriage, before she passed away Jan. 14, 2005, in Cleveland. But now, they will be "Together Again". Also preceding Joe were his siblings, George, John, Steve and Mike Bilicic, Helen Yapell, John, Frank and George Cerjan, Katy Valencic and Anna Cerjan-Bilicic; his parents; and step-mother, Petronella Cerjan-Bilicic.

A Joint Graveside Service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, June 6th, at the Harpersfield Cemetery, Route 307, with Fr. Melvin Rusnak officiating. The Geneva V.F.W. Color Guard Post 6846 will be presenting Military Honors.
