ASHTABULA — Larry K. Gildersleeve Sr., age 76, a resident of Ashtabula, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord and the love of his life, Janice, on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, with his family at his side.
Born June 25, 1936, in Ashtabula, he was the son of Fred and Alberta (Mcgee) Gildersleeve. Larry attended Ashtabula High School and was a Veteran of the United States Army. On Jan. 18, 1958, he married his wife of 52 years, Janice Mae Balog.
Mr. Gildersleeve was retired from RMI Metals.
He enjoyed bowling, softball, playing cards and mostly his family. Larry was an avid Cleveland sports fan.
Survivors include four sons, Larry (Vicki), Mike, Jeff (Debbie) and Daniel (Bethany) Gildersleeve, all of Ashtabula; two daughters, Tammie (Andrew Trebuchon) Gildersleeve of Harpersfield and Mary Ann (Bill) Forgione of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Keith Gildersleeve, Christi Roux, Josh Gildersleeve, Jacob Forgione, Violet Minner, Janice Gildersleeve, Alice Gildersleeve, Daniel Gildersleeve Jr. and Renee Mullins; and great-grandchildren, Cody Mullins, Jonnathan Rohm, Jimmy Roux, Kylee Roux and Jason Roux.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janice Mae Gildersleeve; infant daughter, Jill; and a brother, Charles Gildersleeve.
Funeral Services will be held 12:30 p.m. at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula, on Saturday, Dec. 8th, with Pastor Mike Reagan officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
