ASHTABULA — Ricardo Pugliese, age 95, of Ashtabula, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, in the Hospice Unit of Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born Nov. 8, 1917, in Ashtabula, he was the son of August and Angeline Pugliese. In 1938, he married the former Margaret Church in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Mr. Pugliese was retired from Union Carbide after 30 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his daughter, Angeline Romano of Ashtabula; two sons, Augie and Judy Pugliese and Frank and June Pugliese, both of Ashtabula; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother, Octavian “Barney” Pugliese of Ashtabula; sister, Josephine Rufo of Ashtabula; and his caring companion, Helen Nappi of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Angeline Pugliese; his wife, Margaret Pugliese; granddaughter, Tammy Pugliese; son-in-law, Anthony Romano; two brothers; and seven sisters.
The family would like to thank the management and staff at Country Club Retirement Campus and the staff and aides on the second and forth floor at ACMC, Hospice of the Western Reserve, and Jackie Nazor and Tanya Niemi for their care and compassion during his stay.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon, Monday, Feb. 4th, in Our Lady of Peace Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, with burial to follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Monday, at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula.
