ASHTABULA — Hannah I. Bertog, age 91, died early Saturday morning, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Ashtabula Country Club Retirement Center, where she had been a resident for several years.
Born on May 6, 1921, in Stevensville, Mich., Hannah was the daughter of Henry and Marie (Lick) Bertog.
A housewife for many years, Hannah worked for RCA making computer chips for over 25 years, retiring in 1986.
Hannah was a member of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed playing cards, sewing, bingo and crocheting. She was an excellent dress maker and baker. She was also a farmer and loved spending time with all of her family.
Hannah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo Bertog in 1977; a son, Leo Bertog Jr.; brothers, Henry, Frank and Charles; sisters, Henrietta, Wilomina, Mae and Marie; and a granddaughter, Sharon Crandall.
She is survived by daughters, Marion Kelly of Elwood, Ind., Ann Gerren of Conneaut and Myrna Nault of Arcadia, Ohio; a brother, Clarence Bertog of Benton Harbor, Mich.; a sister, Clair of Pensacola, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Burial will take place at 1 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery in Conneaut on Monday, Jan. 7th. At Hannah’s request, there will be no public calling hours.
