ASHTABULA — Richard R. Emerson, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012.
He was baptized in 1944 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. In 1948, he married Marjorie and together they raised their four children to love the Bible as much as they did. Richard served as an elder in the West Springfield, Pennsylvania Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses up until the time of his death.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Alan (Janet) Emerson of Ashtabula, Susan (Danny) Chodorski of OH, Paul (Shelley) Emerson of Atlanta, Ga. and Sarah (Gary) Hall of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a granddaughter, Deborah (David) Chodorski Knepp of Kansas.
Calling Hours will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1st, at W. Springfield Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, at the intersection of Rts. 5 and 20. A Memorial Service will follow at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make donations can make them to the Hospice of the Western Reserve. Envelopes will be available at the hall. Arrangements entrusted to THOMPSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main St., Conneaut.
