Ralph P. Hovis

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Pa. — Ralph P. Hovis, age 84, of West Springfield, Pa., passed away Wednesday evening, August 14, 2013, at Rolling Fields Elder Care, Conneautville, Pa.

He was born April 27, 1929, in Brookfield, Ohio, and was the son of Paul L. and Eva Mae (Palm) Hovis.

She was a member of the “Bingo Club” and, together, they enjoyed snowmobiling and watching Nascar racing. Ralph built race cars for local racers and briefly raced himself. He enjoyed playing the mandolin, motorcycling, roller-skating, horseshoe pitching, and hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ken Nelson; and his wife, Lola, three weeks ago on July 25, 2013.

Calling Hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, August 19th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, immediately followed by a gathering at the Marcy Family Center, 180 Harbor St., Conneaut.
