SUN CITY, Ariz. — Shirley M. Borch, age 88, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, after a brief illness.
Born August 14, 1925, in Springfield, Pa., she lived most of her childhood in Ashtabula, Ohio, where she attended area schools. Shirley was married to Nick Borch in May 1948. They resided in Charleroi, Pa., and retired to Sun City, Ariz. Nick passed away on March 18, 1981.
Shirley worked for C.L. Carl Distributors, manager of Porters Grocery, Hostess for many restaurants, and property manager for Bill and Flo Cox in Sun City, Ariz.
She traveled extensively, visiting Africa, China and Europe.
She is survived by one sister, Patricia (Kenneth) Woodworth; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Neva (Callahan) Swartz; sisters, Twyla in infancy, Roberta (Clarence) Huffman, Wanda (Ernest) Mosher and Clara (Lyle) Knauff; and one brother, William (Mary) Swartz.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Clements this week. Internment will take place at Sunland Memorial Park, Sun City, Ariz.
