ANDOVER — Venia Elizabeth Chervinski, age 80, passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at the Andover Village Retirement Community.

She was born April 30, 1933, in Washington County, Va., the daughter of Mary Ruth (Davis) Trivett Rhea and had been an Andover resident most of her life.

A Christian by faith, she was proud to be the wife of a hard working farmer. She married the love of her life, Richard William Chervinski, on Nov. 19, 1955, and spent most of her life providing country home cooking for her family, friends and area restaurants.

She loved sitting on the deck, watching the Food Network, bird watching, lilacs, and Gaither gospel, country and polka music. Venia treasured the holidays and family gatherings. A big NASCAR fan, she loved her dogs, “Rudy, Buffy and Buddy” as much as her family.

Shopping was a highlight for Venia and one of her favorite treats was giant peppermint sticks which she loved to eat year round.

Her survivors include three children, Kenneth Everett (Susan) Chervinski of Conneaut, Ricky (Jamie) Chervinski of Conneaut and Peggy (Delmas) Hickman of Andover; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carolyn.

She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 58 years, Richard William Chervinski, only 22 days before her passing on Oct. 12, 2013; two sisters, Fay and Betty; one brother, Dana; and her parents.

A Private Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
