GENEVA — Dorothy A. (Flamm) Burke, age 84, transitioned to her eternal glory, Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Rae-Ann Geneva Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Geneva, Ohio.
Dorothy was a native of Staten Island, N.Y., born to her parents, Frank and Amelia Flamm. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lou (Banjo Lou) Burke; sister, Catherine Quinlan; and brother, Edward Flamm from Florida.
She and her husband had lived in Ft. Lauderdale and Sebring, Fla., since 1973. She relocated to Conneaut, Ohio, and had resided at the Villa at the Lake for the last two and a half years.
She attended Curtis High School on Staten Island and enjoyed home-making, family, crocheting and entertaining. While growing up on Staten Island, she was the majorette of the Royal Blues Drum and Bugle Corps of Stapleton and in her later years, she CO-directed with her husband, the Lawmen Drum and Bugle Corps of New Dorp, Staten Island, in which both her sons were members.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Robert (Diane) Burke of Winterhaven, Fla., and Daniel (Lois) Burke of Ashtabula, Ohio; four grandchildren, Lynda Marambio, Robert Burke Jr., Deanna (Michael) Kennard and Dr. Tina Burke; along with one great-grandchild, Adrianna Marambio.
She will be fondly remembered.
At her request, there will be no services and burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Staten Island, N.Y.
