MEDFORD, N.Y. — Michael Christopher Brasher, age 26, formerly of Geneva, died on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, unexpectedly at his home.
The son of Anthony and Laura (Gandjos) Brasher, he was born in Brookhaven, N.Y. on April 23, 1987. As a child, he and his family moved to Geneva. He had recently returned to Medford and was employed as a carpenter for Home Repair Corporation. Mike was happiest living in Long Island.
A young man with a creative spirit, Mike was a talented artist and singer. He enjoyed writing poetry, composing and singing. His pencil sketches were given to his family and friends and now have become treasures. Mike was an aspiring tattoo artist and would always be willing to place his art on your body. He had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed his friends and family.
Mike will be remembered for his sense of humor, his wonderful smile and his love of family and friends.
He is survived by his loving parents, Anthony and Laura Brasher of Geneva; siblings, Steven (Tanya) Brasher of Temple, Ga., Tiffany (Jared) Singer of Douglasville, Ga. and Brianna Brasher of Geneva; nieces and nephews, Jayden, Calli, Sierra, Mason, Kiley and Rylyn; aunts and uncles, Annette (Gregg) Crute of Geneva, Matthew Gandjos of Anchorage, Alaska, Christine Gandjos of Long Island, N.Y. and Andrew Brasher of Virginia Beach, Va.; cousins, Gregg, Cassie and Adreana; maternal grandpa’s, Chris Gandjos and Michael Grant; paternal grandparents, Jamie and Richard Rickers and General and Judy Brasher; and his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandma, Linda Grant.
A Funeral Service will be held 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23rd, at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio. Mike’s friends are encouraged to share their stories of Mike during this time.
Calling Hours will be observed from 6 p.m. until time of Service, Wednesday, at the Funeral Home.
