CLEVELAND HEIGHTS — Rosemary Woods, of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at home after a two year battle with cancer.
She was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on June 20, 1948, the daughter of Frank L. and Jeannette T. (DelPizzo) Rice. She was a 1966 graduate of Jefferson Area High School and a 1970 graduate of George Washington University. She married William A. Woods on Oct. 3, 1979.
She lived in Alexandria, Va. for many years and worked for Newhouse News Service and the Civil Service Commission. She retired from the Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Undersecretary in 2004 and returned to Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her father in 2000 and her husband in 2003.
She is survived by mother; her sister and caregiver, Constance L. (Edwin) Cumberworth of Cleveland Heights; her brother, Elliott F. (Arlene) Rice of Jefferson; nieces and nephew, Kathleen (Tim) Lee, Constance (Dustin) Park, Mariah Rice and Daniel Rice; and a great-niece, Ava Lee.
Rosemary was supported during her illness by several wonderful care givers and the Hospice of the Western Reserve.
A private memorial service will be held and internment with be at Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland.
