ASHTABULA — Marshall Wayne Sterba Sr., age 44, of West 50th St., Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, from injuries sustained in an accident while doing what he loved to do…….driving his truck.

The son of Norman and Patricia (Schuette) Sterba, he was born on June 23, 1969, in Lakewood, Ohio, and had been an Andover and Ashtabula resident his entire life.

Marshall was a proud 1988 graduate of Ashtabula High School and had just met with his classmates for their twenty-five year reunion.

A truck driver since he was 18 years old, he worked for Truckmen Corp. in Geneva and always traveled with his faithful companion, his dog “Chelsea”.

Marshall had a great sense of humor and was always laughing, smiling and joking with family and friends. He loved being a mechanic, listening to country music, and singing. He will always be remembered for being generous with his time, helping others, and fixing things. He loved his family and enjoyed teaching others, especially teaching his son to be a mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Carney), whom he married April 12, 1998; his children, Marshall Sterba Jr., Jessica Tomblin and Thomas Sterba, all of Ashtabula and Jennifer and Jamie Tomblin of Huntington, W.Va.; one grandson on the way; his mother, Patricia Sterba of Ashtabula; siblings, Karen Sellers of Fredrick, Md., Tammy (Michael) Scheanon of Ashtabula, Terence (Malinda) Sterba of Reno, Nev., Crystal (Luis Rivera) Wright and Brian (Alicia) Sterba, both of Ashtabula and Shawn Sterba of Bedford Heights; and many nieces and nephews.
