CONNEAUT — Eleanor F. Krause, age 95, of Conneaut, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at Lake Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Conneaut.
Eleanor was born Feb. 19, 1918, in North Collins, N.Y., the daughter of Innocence and Barbara (Degenfelder) Heim. For most of Eleanor’s life she was a housewife, working on the farm.
She worked at the former Astatic Corporation in Conneaut and for many years worked at the former News Herald Newspaper as a typesetter.
She was a member of St. Mary Church in Conneaut. She enjoyed working on the family farm throughout the years. Eleanor also enjoyed riding “three wheelers” and horses at the former Happy Riders Club.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emil Albert Krause; brothers, Norbert, Clemens, Raymond, Innocence and Clayton Heim; and sisters, Josephine Heim, Mary Steff, Ema Heim and Barbara Gamble.
She is survived by her daughter, Alberta and Robert White of Conneaut; son, Norman and Kathy Krause of Crown, Pa; sister, Honora “Norie” Donhauser of Springville, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
At Eleanor’s request, no calling hours will be observed. She will be buried next to her husband at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
