KINGSVILLE TOWNSHIP — Evaline M. Fairchild, age 98, Dickinson Road, Ashtabula Township, Ohio, died early Sunday morning, March 16, 2014, at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kingsville Township, where she had been a patient the past seven weeks.
She was born June 3, 1915, in Denmark Township, the daughter of Levi and Eva (Mills) Weir and has resided in Ashtabula County all of life, living in Denmark, Dorset, Andover and Ashtabula Townships.
Mrs. Fairchild retired from the Pierpont Processing Plant in 1978, and previously worked at the Dorset Livestock Auction and Pymatuning State Park.
She was a member of the Kingsville First Baptist Church and she enjoyed sewing and crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading, playing cards and dominos. She loved her church family and never missed breakfast club on Wednesday.
She is survived by four children, Pauline A. (Linton) Strickland of Lindale, Ga., Doris F. (Larry) Meckley of Jefferson, Margaret M. Ketchem of Ashtabula and Lawrence L. Fairchild of Ashtabula; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul V. Fairchild in 1959; a daughter, Josephine Holley in 2013; a great-granddaughter, Mallory Ann Meckley; a brother, Athol Weir; and a sister, Geraldine Burns.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 22nd, at the Kingsville First Baptist Church, 6003 Route 193, Kingsville, Ohio 44048, with the Rev. David F. Hines officiating. Burial will be in Dorset Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be held Friday, March 21st, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Church and also from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday prior to the Service.
