MONTROSE, W.Va. — Mr. Donald Bruce “Bunny” Schoonover, age 73, a resident of Leading Creek Road, Montrose, W.Va., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 4, 2014.
He was born May 12, 1940, in Elkins, W.Va., a son of the late Thomas and Edna Fawley Schoonover. He was married to Dorothy Bean Schoonover for 52 years, who survives at Leading Creek.
Also surviving is one son, Timothy of New Lyme, Ohio; one daughter, Kelly of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a granddaughter, Megan of Columbus, Ohio; a grandson, Jeremy of Middleburg Heights, Ohio; one brother, Thomas Schoonover of Elkins; and two sisters, Margaret of Montrose and Phyllis of Beverly.
Preceding him in death were brothers, Nicholas, Larry, Jerry and an infant brother Lawrence David Schoonover.
Mr. Schoonover retired from Kennametal in Orwell, Ohio after thirty five years and moved back to the family farm on Leading Creek Road near Montrose, W.Va. His life revolved around his family and friends. He had very strong work ethics and was the first to offer help to anyone who needed it.
Don enjoyed watching Wrestling and old westerns shows on TV and gardening and just enjoyed life.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Today, March 6th, at TOMBLYN FUNERAL HOME, Elkins, W.Va. A Funeral Service will be follow at 7 p.m., Today, in the Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Terry Cannon officiating. Cremation will follow.
